The 561D-YZ by Newport is a highly advanced ULTRAlign Linear 3 Axis Stage specifically designed for precision fiber alignment. Its construction boasts stainless steel material, ensuring exceptional long-term stability. The stage incorporates roller bearings that are constructed from hardened steel and are thermally matched, which contribute to its unmatched performance. With these roller bearings and bearing reference surfaces that are manufactured with precision, the 561D-YZ provides 13 mm linear travel in the Y direction and 6 mm travel in the Z direction. It also boasts a better than 100 μrad angular deviation around any axis, further enhancing its precision.

The 561D-YZ undergoes rigorous measurements using a six-axis interferometer for optimal performance guranteed. This stage features a top-mounted rail that facilitates secure and precise attachment of a variety of device and fiber holders. Moreover, it supports the attachment of a tilt platform for fibers with two-axis tip/tilt alignment to the device. Furthermore, users can utilize a goniometer to enable rotation about the fiber axis. Its versatility makes it suitable for an expanding range of applications, including precision positioning. The 561D-YZ incorporates a non-influencing locking mechanism, which ensures submicron positioning is maintained during the locking and unlocking process. This feature contributes to its high level of accuracy.

The 561D-YZ includes specially designed actuator mounting blocks, allowing for quick and effortless changes of actuators on any axis, at any time. For added convenience, it can be customized to accommodate both left and right-handed configurations based on user preferences. Furthermore, this stage can be seamlessly integrated with the 561-ADPT Adaptor, matching the height of a 562-XYZ. This integration enables users to incorporate both the 561D-YZ and the 561D-XYZ into a single system, enhancing the overall functionality of their setup.
