The M-36 by Newport is a Metric Tilt and Rotation Platform designed to facilitate the precise alignment of optical components through rotational and tilt adjustments. This platform employs a kinematic mechanism, incorporating precision steel ball pivots that have undergone a rigorous hardening and polishing process. It features spherical-tipped, spring-preload adjustments that exert their influence on meticulously crafted hardened steel seats. The M-36 is equipped with SM-13 Micrometers, enabling the rotation of a mounting platform around a kinematic pivot point. This capability allows for both rotation adjustment and elevation tilt adjustment. The rotational function serves to provide azimuth adjustment for components mounted on the same face as the micrometers, while components mounted on the opposite side can be precisely adjusted within the same plane. This platform is well-suited for accommodating linear translation stages, which expands its alignment capabilities to encompass comprehensive assembly alignment needs.
