The RV350PP by Newport is a precision Rotation Stage renowned for its high-performance capabilities, offering accurate angular positioning and a remarkable load capacity. This stage has been meticulously designed to optimize load capacity, torque, speed, and resolution, making it well-suited for a diverse range of applications. Constructed from robust tool steel, the RV350PP ensures rotation accuracy through the implementation of ground bearing surfaces.

The double row of preloaded bearings of the RV350PP allows it to accommodate high off-center loads within a compact footprint. The single monolithic design not only enhances the stage's stiffness but also maintains exceptional dynamic performance. The precision rotation of the RV350PP is made possible by a hardened worm and precision ground gear. Adding to its precision, a rotary encoder mounted onto the worm gear shaft provides a position feedback resolution of 0.001 degrees. As a mini-step version of the standard rotation stage, this stage allows for high angular speed motions, reaching up to 20 degrees per second.

The RV350PP features a worm mounted rotary encoder, significantly enhancing accuracy and repeatability. The encoder also serves as a crucial means for detecting motor stalling, particularly valuable for applications involving high acceleration ramps, torques, or payload inertias. For added equipment protection, this stage is equipped with limit switches, set to ±170 degrees, and incorporates a home position search device. Moreover, a switch is available to inhibit the limit switches, allowing for rotation over 360 degrees or more when required. The stage boasts a worm/gear ratio of 1/90, with position measurement facilitated by an encoder positioned on the motor shaft. It is essential to note that the RV350PP operates without a tachometer and utilizes a 4000 pts/rev. encoder.
