The F-CLX-0-3 by Newport is a Manual Fiber Cleaver designed to achieve precise optical fiber cleaving with an end face perpendicular to within 0.5°. These rugged fiber cleavers offer user-friendly operation and deliver high-quality cleaves. Notably, during the clamping process, direct contact with the fiber is avoided, resulting in a strong cleaved fiber suitable for high-strength fusion splicing. The cleaver employs a patented mechanism that cleaves, scribes, tenses, and clamps the fiber in a singular push downwards of the top lever after the fiber has been placed into the V-groove. Moreover, the F-CLX-0-3 comes equipped with a long-life blade, strategically angled to reduce stresses during cleaving, allowing for up to 20,000 cleaves. Additionally, a scale is incorporated for accurately gauging cleave lengths.
