The T81-3X by Newport is a precision-engineered 3 mm x 3 mm Entrance Laser Beam Expander designed with a 3x expansion ratio and integrates Tropel optical designs, elevating its performance with improved mounting and adjustability features. As power levels increase, this expander demonstrates a proportional reduction in divergence, thereby extending its collimation range. This expander can also attach to a variety of HeNe lasers equipped with a 1-32 accessory thread. The T81-3X is optimized for applications in which creating a small spot at a significant distance from the laser is essential or when extending the collimation range is necessary for aligning or illuminating distant objects. It guarantees a minimum focused spot size with less than λ/4 wavefront distortion. Moreover, the expander's lens is coated for antireflection, using a magnesium fluoride formulation tailored for 632.8 nm wavelength, resulting in a transmission rate of over 95%.
